What is SpeedUp RIBELLE?

SpeedUp RIBELLE is an electronic and smart speed release device that needs no external power.

It is designed for use with BOSCH Active, Performance, Performance CX, 2014-15-16-17-19 and Active Line, Active Line Plus 2018-19 motors to circumvent the 25km/h speed limit and allow an increase in its active assistance up to speeds that can exceed 60km/h by exploiting the motor’s power to the full.

SpeedUp RIBELLE always shows real speed and distance on the Intuvia, Nyon, Purion and Kiox display even with activated speed release.

SpeedUp RIBELLE is equipped with a self-learning system to store all the parameters of the ebike on which it is mounted. Therefore no setting is necessary. Only a short initial sequence and then you can only think about having fun!

Speedup RIBELLE  is mounted very simply by interposing it between the speed sensor and the engine and between the display and the engine using original connectors that do not alter the characteristics of electrical resistance and water tightness.

SpeedUp RIBELLE does not modify in any way the Bosch engine electronics, that can be reset at any time and in a few minutes to the factory configuration and leaves no traces of its installation either physical or even on the ebike software. This allows to keep the guarantee and let unchanged the effective commercial value of the bicycle.

The operation system starts operating only when the 16 kmH is reached, progressively reducing the communication of the wheel revolutions to the engine according to a precise algorithm without the cyclist noticing any difference in assistance. It does not intervene in any way at low speeds. This is an important precaution designed not to vary the parameters of the engine intervention at the restart and in important climbs, (which are the critical and most delicate moments for an engine) thus leaving intact the parameters studied and optimized by the manufacturer, and thus avoiding loss of power, failures or “hiccup” operations that instead occur with the release systems of other manufacturers.

SpeedUp RIBELLE can be activated and deactivated with a simple button sequence from the command to the ebike handlebar. A feedback is shown on the display each time the activation or deactivation status is changed.

Rebel allows the millimetric setting of the wheel diameter for an extremely precise calculation of speed and distance even if the tire were to be replaced with a different section from the original. This possibility is very useful especially with the Purion display as this display does not offer the possibility of adjusting the wheel circumference.
